| Tuesday, September 1, 2009 New Source of Abundant, Safe, Clean Energy Topic of International Symposium TORONTO, CANADA … On Tuesday, September 8, 2009 delegates from Canada, the US, Japan, Europe and Asia will gather at the Ontario Science Centre for an International Policy Forum on space-based solar power. SPACE Canada in cooperation with the International Academy of Astronautics (IAA) will welcome representatives from the international community of science and technology, experts in global warming and climate change, members of the academic community, experts in space and international law, representatives of provincial and federal governments, departments and agencies, NGOs, economists and journalists and leaders in the business community to a three-day international dialogue on the viability of space-based solar power as an alternative source of clean energy for the world. You are invited to attend and cover the three-day symposium. SPACE Canada (Solar Power Alternative for Clean Energy) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of international dialogue on solar energy from space through education, research and commercialization. The three-day Symposium will include a one-day International Policy Forum and a two-day technical session as part of the IAA Study on solar energy from space, which will feature approximately 50 technical papers on various aspects of space-based solar power presented by the world’s leading scientists and space engineers. Speakers Include: Hon. John Milloy, Minister of Research and Innovation, Marc Garneau, MP and Canada’s first astronaut, Dan Fortin, President, IBM Canada (Key Note Speaker).
